How to Prepare a Property for Aerial Photos
Aerial photos show the property the way a buyer never gets to see it, which is the point, and also the catch: the camera at 200 feet sees the whole property at once, including the parts a ground photographer would simply crop out. Ten minutes of preparation makes the difference between a clean aerial set and one with a trash can in the hero shot.
The aerial checklist
- Move vehicles out of the driveway and off the street in front of the home.
- Put away trash cans, hoses, toys, and lawn equipment, they are small from the ground and obvious from above.
- Mow if it is due. Lawn condition is the single most visible thing in an aerial photo.
- Close gates, straighten outdoor furniture, and uncover the pool if there is one.
- For acreage, clear what you can around the main structures, the land itself photographs as it is.
What we handle
Weather calls are the pilot's job, light, wind, and cloud cover get planned around the forecast. You also do not need to be home for an exterior aerial shoot in most cases, access to the lot is usually enough. If the shoot includes interior work, a 360 tour or a floor plan, treat the inside like a normal showing: lights on, blinds open, surfaces clear.
Timing the shoot
The best time to book is the moment the property is photo ready, because media turnaround is usually the last thing standing between signed and listed. Unified Aerial delivers within 24 to 48 hours of the flight and is available 24/7 for scheduling across Amarillo and the Texas Panhandle, so the listing is never waiting on the camera.
